What a privilege it is to be alive and to do the things I love to do – be a Mum, wife, coach, friend, observe, contemplate, feel, know, write, teach, have fun, laugh…..
I was blessed with the most loving family growing up and am now blessed with a family of my own – my husband Clayton, son Joel (5) and daughter Ruby-Rose who was born in May this year.
From as little as I remember, life has always been about ‘people’ for me. Sitting there amongst the adults as a child, listening to teenage problems at school, working in Human Resources in my 20′s and 30′s, having the absolute honour of sharing the intimate space that I now do with clients and experiencing the overwhelming gift of love as a mother, I experience Life and who I am through the relationships I have.
After having a happy and successful career in Human Resources for 13 years, a major turning point occurred in 1999 with the death of my first son Joshua when he was 11 days old and the subsequent end of my marriage. After a couple of years of living blindly, a wonderful friend and later business partner invited me to a personal transformation program. Through the learnings I gained, I found freedom. I became aware of the overlying purpose of Life - to be who you really are, not the limited and finite version that your head wants you to believe, but the infinite, undefinable and miraculous you. As such, I consciously awoke to my intuition and embraced my ability to ‘feel’ as a gift that could resource me with information that my rational mind could never tell me. In an intuitive piece of writing, Joshua told me that ‘you are here to ignite peoples’ spirits and hearts. Do you know that’s why you were brought here? Do you know that’s why I chose you to be my mother? You filled my heart and body with love. That’s all I needed. And now I do the same to you.’ I left my career in Human Resources and after some time exploring what this message meant in tangible terms, birthed ‘Dare to be Remarkable’ where I facilitated workshops with my then business partner to open people up to who they really are. A major client over the first few years was a financial services business who piloted the first program for which I will always be grateful.
People ask me how do I know the things that I know and share. I’ve been consciously committed to my own growth since 1999 and have since had mentors, coaches and teachers opening me up to different life philosophies. Some have strongly resonated and others have given me the contrast needed for me to grow my own authentic way.
In 2010, my business partnership completed and in August 2011, I let go of the Dare to be Remarkable identity to present myself as myself.
I coach people privately and in partnerships in personal and business contexts and facilitate group coaching programs. I love writing and sharing and one medium where I do this is on the Dare to be Remarkable Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dare-to-be-Remarkable/95692502493.
